How do you learn new words in french?

How do you learn new words in french? The Gordon Schools, Aberdeenshire came up with these ideas:

Word association – in French and in English
Repeated writing down of the words
Learn it to music
Learn both ways - French-English and English-French
Family testing
Matching exercises
Sticky labels on the fridge, biscuit tin and so on
Learn five at a time
Record your voice saying them
Test your friends (by mobile or text)

Why don't you try some of these and leave a comment on which one works best for you!

I learn words in French because I listen to my French Teacher and then I know the words and sometimes I find it hard and sometimes I find it easy!!

I learn French by myself sometimes and I do that by doing....I type down French words then I read them and then i say them without looking!!!!

Thanks P7teach - let us know how you get on.

I like your ideas on improving writing and problem solving. I've put a link to them on our site so that we can learn from your ideas.
